Exclusive | Ralph Lauren goes for spring with Usher and First Lady Jill Biden

Ralph Lauren moved to the Hamptons.

The all-American designer kicked off New York Fashion Week Spring 2025 on Thursday night with a stable for about 200 VIPs and celebrities at Khalily Stables, an equestrian complex in Bridgehampton. Enjoying the unbridled glamor were First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Usher, Tom Hiddleston, Jude Law, Kacey Musgraves, HER, Laura Dern and Naomi Watts.

In a grassy field next to the squares and stables, the designer built a pristine white pavilion on an open-air track that connected to a recreation of his famous Polo Bar, a monumental effort of construction and decoration that took six weeks. The temporary restaurant was appointed with the same whimsical leather banquettes, green-and-white china, funky lighting and real estate art hanging from its downtown hotspot, and served its famously cozy fare. The atmosphere was so congenial that stars like Colman Domingo, Joey King and Andra Day chatted with fashionistas in the brass lantern bar area and spacious dining room, about twice the size of the original.

Lauren showcased Collection, Purple Label, Polo Ralph Lauren and Childrenswear to a cast of all ages. Supermodel Christy Turlington, her daughter Grace Burns and grandson James Turlington paraded the luxurious looks. James’ mum Kelly cheered them on from the front row, while friend Naomi Watts urged him to jump and join her family on the catwalk.

Iconic model Naomi Campbell also made two outings wearing shades of white: a baseball cap, jacket and pants, and a knotted top over a pearl evening skirt.

Dressed in a pale yellow button-down and slacks, Usher applauded Campbell, his longtime friend. “That’s butter,” the hitmaker said of his outfit. “This is very Limoncello-y in America. It’s Ralph Lauren Purple Label and you’ll see it next year.”

Immaculate ivory – used in linen suits, long prairie skirts and fringed cowboy pants – was another color theme, along with a host of blushes. There was a lot of denim, reminiscent of Ralph’s Team USA opening ceremony uniforms at the Paris Olympics, and sportswear in bold colors.

After the show, Tom Hiddleston told Alexa that he’s a lifelong fan of Ralph’s menswear. “The older I get, the more I realize that clothing is part of your expression. There’s nothing like a well-made costume,” said the “Loki” star. “I find the seeming impossibility of great tailoring very inspiring.”

And then he took it to The Polo Bar pop-up, where the fun was free.
